About Our Clubs

WHAT IS OUR CLUBS?

The first aim of Our Clubs is to act as a directory for local clubs enabling potential new members to find and make contact with clubs of interest to them.

The second aim is to encourage communication within clubs providing a tool which enhances the club experience, enables club members to participate to a greater extent and club organisers to keep in contact with their members.

And it's FREE!

FINDING CLUBS

Use the Our Clubs ‘Browse Clubs’ facility to find clubs in your local area which are of interest to you. Click on a club displayed within your search results and you will find more information about the club including a description of club activities, meeting times, as well as contact details such as telephone number or email address of the club organiser. If you feel the club is what you’re looking for you can make contact with the organiser and attend one of their club meetings.

BECOME A MEMBER OF THE OUR CLUBS SITE

Becoming a member of the Our Clubs site allows you to participate in the online activities of your chosen club (or clubs) and its free, to be a member and to have your club on the site.

FUNCTIONALITY OF THE OUR CLUBS SITE

1. News – keeping club membership up to date,
2. Events – keep track of upcoming events,
3. Forums – discuss club issues,
4. Upload photos – for fellow members to comment on,
5. Upload files e.g. pdf, word, and excel,
6. Private message other Our Clubs members,
7. Buddies – make a buddy link with another member you know who will then be able to see your profile page and post comments on it.

PROFILE PAGE

After obtaining your Our Clubs user ID and password you can log on to the site. The first page that appears is your ‘My Profile’ page. On this page you can see information feeding from all the individual clubs that you might be a member of, news, forum topics, events, photos, and files. The beauty of this page is that as well as seeing all your personal profile details you are getting summary details of all your club interests in one place.

CLUB ORGANISERS

If you are a club organiser you can use the Our Clubs site to make contact with potential new members.

You can publish news, events, forum topics and photos making them either public or private. Public items are available to view to any visitor to the Our Clubs site and these can work as an attraction to your club. Alternatively you can make your published material private so only your club members can view them. It is even possible to make your whole club invisible to the world so it doesn’t appear when visitors browse for clubs.

As club organiser you have total control over who joins your club, and are able revoke membership if necessary. Members can post forum topics, photos, files, and comments but again you have total control over what remains on your club page

If you run a large club and want to share the administration of your club page you can delegate admin roles to other members through the ‘manage members’ menu.
